One July sunny day, on a TCC campus a girl would drop her books and knight in shining armor (we’ll call him Kent), came to her aid. From that moment on these two were inseparable. It wouldn’t take long for them to realize that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Kaitlyn an amazingly beautiful bride, would say I do to the love of her life on March 26, 2017. They bought a house, had 2 adorable dogs, were in great jobs, and Kaitlyn was going to school to be a elementary school teacher. They were dreaming of a day not too far down the road where they would add children to this fairytale. But just as life goes, an obstacle has been put in this story.
3 weeks ago 23 year old Kaitlyn got the news that every woman dreads to hear, she had a large mass that would have to immediately be surgically removed. After surgery, local doctors were unable to determine what the mass was therefore it had to be sent away to UVA hospital for extensive testing. UVA found it to be a extremely rare and highly aggressive uterine cancer called Adenosarcoma. They were told 3% of all uterine cancer is this and never in someone so young. Due to the aggressiveness the doctors have advised her to have a full hysterectomy within 6 to 8 weeks to ensure the cancer does not return. Even through all this, and many other obstacles that have been thrown their way, Kaitlyn and Kent have managed to maintain their unwavering faith, positivity and laughter. However, one thing weighing heavily on their mind is this young couple’s dream of someday having children of their own, which is now dependent on $7,856.25 for an egg harvesting procedure that cannot wait. This amount doesn’t even count the extensive costs for surrogacy that will come in the future. While this may seem like an impossible amount to reach in such a short amount of time, I can’t help but remember these words.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:13. If you find yourself able to give for this procedure or even offer a prayer I know they would be eternally grateful. Thank you.
