Please help Katinka East Village NYC

Katinka is been in business for 42 years.

My partner of 48 years (Billy Lyles and myself,Jane Williams)have been promoting small Artisans from India since we started traveling there over 40 years ago.

Nothing is factory produced and many items are one of a kind.

For the last 14 years, I have been working

with a self empowerment project teaching and producing products to sell in my store, and in craft markets in India.

I travel to India twice a year, paying my own plane fare and volunteering my design services and supplies to educate about 40 to 50 women in the village of Mangar, New Delhi, India.

The profits from this project, also help educate about 1,000 Indian children in our tutoring centers in the area. The name of our NGO is Laksh Foundation.

Since the Covid crisis we have been hard hit, as many others.

I spent 5 months working there on lockdown in 2020

We need funds to keep our store and project going.

These are the specifics:

two plane tickets to India. I hope to be able to travel there maybe by April 2022.

Back rent incurred during lockdown in NYC

supplies for new products and fair payment to women who are sewing patchwork and embroidery for our foundation .

Donations to Laksh Foundation to continue our sewing cooperative and

keep our tuition for children going and our new computer center which we started in the fall of 2020.

This request is for the upcoming year

2022.
