Please help Kelly Rook's Medical Journey & Kellys Komeback

Hello all! My name is Nicole and I'm from Bartlett, TN.

As everyone knows our favorite Kelly Rook, owner of Kelly's Kuts in Bartlett, TN, became ill on July 24th, two weeks before her grand opening of her salon at the new location:

During those two weeks of her illness, she was so focused and determined to finish her new location move and get opened as her clients are the most important people (besides her loved ones). On the salon's grand opening, July 5th, she was able to go in and take her first morning appointment (not knowing it would be the last for a long time). Afterwards, she became so weak and ill that she was taken to a local ER then transferred to Methodist Germantown where she was told that she needed immediate surgery and that the chances of survival were minimal. During surgery, she coded twice but Kelly FOUGHT and survived the surgery! The first 2 weeks in ICU were very critical but as we know our Kelly is such a STRONG FIGHTER that she fought and got stable enough to be moved to a recovery room.

Due to the lack of medical insurance, on August 1 she was discharged home with only a hospital bed and 8 days of nurse care. She has no PT available, and the surgical area will need to be watched and cleaned for more than the 8 nurse visits provided. The hospital would not refer her for PT as the lack of insurance was the problem. She is in desperate need of PT and nursing care as family and friends are doing the best they can without the knowledge of PT and wound care. Researching these costs by calling several rehabs in the area would cost thousands of dollars per month which Kelly cannot afford due to being off work from this illness.

As a small business owner for over 30 years in the Memphis and Bartlett area, she works independently and employs two other wonderful ladies that have held down the business while Kelly is battling to get better and recover so she can come back! As we know Kelly with that bright huge smile would give the shirt off her back or provide a roof over your head because that's how WONDERFUL she is! Kelly WILL NOT ask for anything as she's always been VERY independent. Now she needs us more than ever to help get her better and back to work and with your help and donations our Kelly can get the medical care she deserves.
