Please help Khuraira and her Boys

Our dear friend, Khuraira, has lost her beloved husband, Patrice, the father of her 3 beautiful boys, Kamil and Jamil (age 16) and Hanif (age 14). The family needs our help for funeral expenses and cost of living going forward. Many of us know Khuraira  as a talented make up artist, a hard working small business owner (Khuraira cosmetics in Tenafly, NJ)  and a tireless advocate for those less fortunate here in Bergen County and across the world. Orphaned at birth in Nigeria, Khuraira used her positive spirit and incredible work ethic to go after the American dream. She’s been a mainstay in Tenafly for 15 years, and her family recently moved to Harrington Park..her boys are star athletes and honor students at NVOT. Life has not been easy for this family. In 2013, little Hanif was diagnosed with sickle cell anemia and was in a coma for months. His only chance of survival was a bone marrow transplant, which began a long 2 year process in which Khuraira, herself, was the donor. Thankfully, Hanif recovered, but the family’s finances were depleted because of huge medical bills. Just months after all of this, Patrice was diagnosed with a rare kidney disorder and had to stop working full time to receive dialysis 3 times a week. He was a candidate for a kidney transplant and waited 5 years for a kidney (that never came). Patrice passed away this week from a brain aneurysm . Because of the covid 19 crisis, Khuraira’s business is shut down with no source of income for the family. Just as she has been there for us at all of our most important family events, it’s now time to be there for Khuraira. Anyone who knows her knows what a special human being she is in this world.
