Please help Kimberly’s mom get a service dog!

Hi, my name is Mary Friona-Celani and I am raising money for my good friend, Kimberly LaRussa. Kimberly, the creator of Sweet Buffalo, spends so much time helping others - now she needs us!

Please help get Kimberly’s mom get a service dog 

“My mom recently moved from Florida to Buffalo to be closer to me. I have been waiting for years for her to be near me as we haven’t lived near each other in 18 years. I’ve loved my mom my whole life. She has always believed in me and now I believe in her. 

My mom has a condition called neuropathy which makes it difficult for her to walk as good as she used to. But I believe she can with a little help from a friend! 

I am currently trying to get my mom a service dog to help her with mobility. The dog will not only provide her comfort and companionship, I believe the dog will also give her the confidence she needs to live a happy, healthy, active and independent life. 

Kayleigh from Shaylah’s Canine Commands will be training a beautiful Golden Retriever named Chloe for my mom. Chloe is two years old and has already learned so much about being a service dog, now she will be trained for mobility. 

My mom is a veteran and goes to the VA in Buffalo and the doctors there believe a service dog would be a great idea and have already signed off on paperwork to approve Chloe for my mom’s apartment. Kayleigh trains service dogs for veterans and she believes a service dog will greatly benefit my mom too! 

I’ve never seen my mom smile so big as when she met Chloe for the first time. 

The cost for a service dog and training ranges anywhere from $12,000 to $15,000. Chloe would go everywhere with my mom, including VA appointments, and be trained to help her walk.

I truly believe dogs are the best medicine for anyone and I know Chloe would make such a difference, walking by my mom’s side every step of the way.”
