Please Help Larry Fulfill His Bucket List Dreams
Donation protected
We are Neil and Nancy McCurry. We are raising funds for our long-time friend, Larry Berwick. Larry was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer four months ago. Although he is undergoing treatment, and his prognosis is not good, his attitude is positive and strong! We all put things we want to do in life off due to work and family commitments. Larry has a bucket list of things he was looking forward to in his retirement. The time he has left is likely short. Many of us want to see Larry accomplish some of the items on that list that are most important to him. He has recently spent his life savings on deductibles, co-pays, and wrapping up some projects around the house in order to leave his wife of 39 years, Tina, with a home that is in good shape. Let's pitch in to help Larry and Tina enjoy a trip back to St. Lucia with their family for a vacation. St. Lucia is a special place to them, as it is where Larry and Tina's daughter Amanda married her husband David in 2019. Larry would also like to go tuna fishing. A fisherman all his life, one fish he has never caught is a tuna. It is his dream to catch a big one! There are other things on the list too like visiting the Grand Canyon and Mount Rushmore, but he is already four months into a 4-6 month prognosis. His time is short. Help him achieve his final wishes now, while he is able to manage his pain and has the strength to go out and enjoy these last few outings. Of course, we are praying for a miracle--that somehow treatment will be successful and buy him a few more years, or perhaps he will be cured. Larry is tough and a fighter. If anyone can do it, it's him. Your donation (and prayers for a miracle) would be greatly appreciated. Read below for a little history on Larry and our friendship.
Larry lived in Laconia, NH most of his life. He comes from a blended family of Berwicks and Wingates. He met and married Tina in 1983. They have lived in the same home on Perkins Drive in Laconia for all their married life. They have two adult children. Amanda Berwick Merrill and Jeremy Berwick. Larry spent most of his life working in construction. He and Neil worked together for several of those years. Larry built many beautiful homes in and around the Lakes Region and on Lake Winnipesaukee. Larry was also extremely generous with his time and talents helping friends build and remodel their dream homes. Larry helped us build two of our homes in Belmont and helped many others as well. When his back gave out after years of hard work, he found a great job at Eptam Plastics in Belmont, where he continued to work until his illness, treatments, and medical appointments put him out on permanent disability.
We met Larry and Tina when our daughter Shannon went to kindergarten with their daughter, Amanda. It's a beautiful thing how we can make life-long friends through our children. We shared many years of family fun. Although the miles have separated us, friendship and love lives on. It would mean so much to us and to Larry and his family, to see him enjoy some of his favorite things during this time of turmoil and struggle. ANY help you could offer would be greatly appreciated!!! THANK YOU!!!!!
