PLEASE HELP LAY LEONARD TO REST
Donation protected
HI. My neighbor of many years passed away about a week and a half ago As of right now he lays at Good Shepard Funeral Home, until funds can be gathered to cover his end of life expenses. It breaks my heart the thought of him just there waiting. He suffered from copd, also lung cancer, I believe congestive heart failure, and the ambulance has been through countless times taking him to hospital. This last time he had pneumonia again, but he was there for over a month and sadly he ended up passing away alone at a nursing facility a day or two before he was to be brought home. There is little family and the majority is in Mississippi, who will come when services are planned. One sister was able to get some money to funeral home and social security will help with a couple hundred bucks. He doesn't own anything that could be sold to assist in paying for it. His wife said all he wanted was to have a viewing so people could say goodbye and then to be cremated. She also said for the few weeks before he passed he told her he had a reoccurring dream that he was hollering in this big church for people but he was there all alone and noone heard him. I hope that's not what his spirit is doing now. That's so sad. Leonard was a kind man. He drove us crazy on more than a few occasions, but he was helpful when he could be one time he got up off the porch and grabbed the mower and started to mow. He just wanted to help I said sit your old ass down lol. ( he was on oxygen as well) It brought him joy to help if he could even if it wasn't much. He was going to cat sit for me until I could take this cat who needed saved to humane society in the morning. Morning came and I went upstairs, and first thing he said was hes going to need to stay here. He already named him and the cat was laying next to him with his leg stretched enough to where he had one paw touching Leonard.. I know his buddy is wondering where he is now. So if you could share this or donate, or get a hold of Good Shepard Funeral Home off 84th and L st in Omaha. They will take a credit card payment over phone or you could go there. If you can, please do. He passed away at 70 years old and im sure he was lonely, I know things are rough with the way everything costs more and gas prices these days but I hope there is enough people that can assist to help Lay him to Rest..His wife has come with between 1500 and 2000 There is a photo of what the funeral home total charges are. .R I P Leonard.
