Please Help Liz and Her Girls!
Donation protected
I am starting a fundraiser for my best friend of two decades, Liz Sanchez-Jurado, whose home was tragically ravaged by a fire earlier this morning. Thankfully, her and her two incredible daughters are safe, as well as their family dog; unfortunately their two cats are still unaccounted for and a family member was lost in the house fire. While the fire took place in the apartment above hers, the smoke and water damage is immense and they will likely need to replace most of their property. Liz is an incredibly beautiful soul and has devoted all of her adult life to compassionately supporting underserved populations; she has been working with the DDSO as a direct support professional in group homes for almost a decade, and was previously working for another non-profit agency in the community. She has been frequently mandated, like many other health care workers during this pandemic, due to a shortage of workforce and has been working very hard to stay afloat and manage family and work life. Her daughters are bright, sweet, and kind young women, just like their mother, and she is raising them to be resilient, strong women just like herself.
While I know that the state of society does not leave a lot of us much room to help out, I wanted to rally in support of Liz in any way possible because that’s what she would do for any one of us. Please consider sparing even a little bit of financial support, and more importantly, please share this page as much as possible.
Wishing everyone a happy holiday season filled with love and peace!
