Help Macaylah Whitlock Get Her Special Bed!

We are Greg and Connie Bimm. Many of you know that Greg is recently retired from Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Over his 46-year tenure, we have made so many treasured friends. Please take time to pray and consider helping our dear friend, Marc Whitlock, as he and his family are in need of a very expensive special hospital bed for their daughter, Macaylah. Here is their story:

Our dear friends, Kellie and Marc Whitlock, have dedicated their lives to serving others. Kellie, an ordained Presbyterian minister, and Marc, an educator with over three decades of experience, have always been there for their community, offering guidance, support, and compassion. Now, they need our help.

Their beloved daughter, Macaylah, is a teenager who brings joy and light to everyone she meets. Macaylah has Down Syndrome, is profoundly Deaf, incontinent, and suffers from juvenile inflammatory arthritis in her legs and hips. She has 24/7 care. Despite her lifetime of medical challenges and surgeries, she shows strength in dealing with these adversities.

Macaylah needs a hospital bed for her daily care. After a year of waiting on insurance, they were told that an 18-inch elevated metal bed frame was the only option due to demand. The Whitlocks were blessed with a used bed three years ago from an incredibly generous family; however, it has had many repairs and now has broken parts.

Macaylah’s family needs a fully electric hospital bed with all the necessary accessories for her ongoing care. This bed will significantly improve her quality of life, offering her the support and comfort she needs, especially as her arthritis makes mobility increasingly difficult. The cost of the recommended bed is a sum that is beyond what Kellie and Marc can manage on their own.
