Please help us help Mark and Jacquie Donahue in their time of need…
Mark was diagnosed with kidney cancer last year and had a kidney removed as a result. Mark and Jacquie value their privacy and shared this news mostly with just family and close friends. After surgery last year, Mark’s prognosis was positive. While they both missed a lot of work at that time, they asked for nothing and even turned down an offer then to raise money.
Recently Mark developed additional difficulties and was informed in mid-February that his cancer had returned and spread to his liver, lungs and lymph nodes. Apparently, Mark’s primary cancer was bladder cancer that was in his kidney. The cancer cells multiplied and metastasized aggressively after his kidney surgery. As you can imagine, this has changed everything for Mark and Jacquie, along with their family and close friends.
Mark has begun immunotherapy with the objective to reduce his pain and prolong his life. If you are not aware, immunotherapy is, plain and simply, expensive. In addition, while Mark and Jacquie’s employers have been very cooperative and supportive, Mark is no longer able to work and Jacquie is missing a lot of work without pay. The math is simple, expenses are mounting while income is falling.
Mark and Jacquie need our help. Mark and Jacquie fully understand what is truly important in life (and always have)… their faith, family and friends. While finances, at a time like this, are secondary, helping them during this difficult and trying time is a simple and easy way for those of us who know and care about Mark and Jacquie to show our love, friendship and support.
How many times did Mark show up to fix or build something at our homes and businesses, often at a more than affordable rate, if not for free? He often showed up for these ‘favors’ in the evening and on weekends, after working on his own projects or job sites for other contractors. All the while forgoing some quality time with Jacquie… they both gave of themselves to others often and without reservation. Now it’s our turn.
If you can find it in your heart to open your purses and wallets to help… Thank you!
If not, we understand, and equally value your thoughts and prayers for Mark and Jacquie.
May God bless.
