Please help Mark Fluckiger with his medical necc..

Donation protected
In May of 2020, Mark Fluckiger started to experience tingling in his feet and legs.  Not too long after, the coordination it took to walk started to diminish.  Over the past year, he has been to several specialists.  A clear diagnosis still cannot be reached, just that he does have an irreversible spine injury.  His symptoms have ultimately led him to be in a wheelchair.  He is able to be on his feet for very short periods of time with assistance. The prognosis is that he will not recover from his current position, and the doctors' are uncertain if things will progress.

Mark worked at Gottier Fuel in Vernon for 21 years as an Oil Burner Service Technician.  His career in the fire department started in the 1970's in House 47, Stafford Springs, CT.   After 7 years, he started at Station 541 in Vernon, CT.  He achieved the rank of Lieutenant.  He then transferred to Station 441 as Captain.  Mark spent 28 years dedicating himself to serve the community through the fire department.  He ended that career after nearly losing his wife in 1997.

Mark is a family man and a true friend, even to complete strangers.  His warm smile and contagious laughter is something that has stayed in the hearts of so many.  He has given without hesitation, and is in need of your help now.  House and vehicle renovations need to be made to become handicap accessible.
