Please help support our friend MaryEllen Sorino Sullivan during her cancer treatment. MaryEllen was unexpectedly diagnosed with Colon Cancer.
A colonoscopy revealed the tumor caused a blockage in the bowel and cancer has metastasized to the pelvic and liver regions. Following an emergency bowel resection, MaryEllen spent two weeks recovering in the hospital, Jim by her side, waiting for her prognosis. Her Oncologists confirmed that the PET Scan showed tumors in the liver and pelvic regions. A second laparoscopic surgery to cauterize blood supply to tumors on the liver is pending approval. This procedure sounds very hopeful. Ongoing treatment includes chemotherapy and receiving nutrients through a Port 2-3 times a week. The treatment facility is a 45 minute drive from home, which requires additional time off for Jim, as well as travel expenses incurred.
