Please help me achieve top surgery

Summer 2020 was a time of great upheaval and uncertainty for us all. Many of us found ourselves in lockdown due to Covid-19, picking up old hobbies and baking bread. For me, this time at home in isolation allowed me to fully come to terms with something that for many years I had tried to suppress. It was during this time, that I came out to my family and friends as a transgender man, and began my medical transition. It has been a difficult journey, but thanks to those closest to me, I began taking testosterone, and the changes I have seen have helped me start to recognise the man I see in the mirror. Despite these changes, such as a deepening of my voice and the appearance of facial hair, I still suffer with debilitating dysphoria, due to the fact I have a female chest. Since summer 2020, I have been putting money aside for top surgery, saving as much as I can whenever I can. However, due to several factors, the savings pot is still low. For this surgery, that will help me to interact with the world as the person I truly am, I can either wait for an NHS referral or pay for private treatment. I have been on the NHS waiting list since Summer 2020, however, the wait time for this is already several years, increased even further by the pandemic putting those already waiting before me on hold. It is due to this that I am looking at private surgery, which would enable me to be seen much quicker, and be able to start living as my true self sooner. The only issue with going private, is that the surgery, medication and aftercare, all add up to £9000 in the UK.This is an huge sum of money, but to someone like myself, who is constantly reminded of my physical differences, this is priceless. I appealed to a local newspaper earlier this year to help me raise awareness and much needed funds for the surgery. However, following the article, I received such a large volume of backlash and hurtful comments, that I felt I had to withdraw my appeal and go back to trying to save by myself. Now, starting the new year of 2023, I have decided I owe it to myself, and those closest to me who have helped me so much, to continue fighting for this surgery. My plan now, is to try and raise £5000 so that I can travel to Poland, and have my surgery there. I understand money is tight for us all, however, if you are able to spare even the smallest amount, to donate to this life changing operation, I would be forever grateful to you. Thank you.
