Please Help Me Fight Cancer & Live For My Family!

My name is Richie Nelson. I am a husband and a proud father of two crazy-spunky handsome little boys, RJ & Evan. We live in Norwood, a small town in New Jersey.
I am in need of your help with medical expenses, family support and care in my battle against cancer, to live for myself and my family.
Over the Labor Day weekend (9/6/22), I was blindsided with a massive migraine. It lasted four days, no medication would help. My wife, Jennifer, finally forced me to go to the emergency room to get checked. I thank God she did!
The emergency doctors found a large tumor in my brain. I was airlifted to Hackensack Hospital. The surgeon at Hackensack quickly tried to remove the tumor through brain surgery. It was a very risky surgery that could have caused me to never speak again or paralyze one side of my body. The doctor went in, tried his best to remove the tumor, but it was too aggressive and he was only able to take out 35% of the tumor. The tumor was biopsied. I was diagnosed with cancerous Central Nervous System (CNS) Lymphoma, which is a rare form of cancer that only affects 5 out of 1 million cancer patients.
September 2022 will always be the month that turned my life and my family’s lives upside down. I am currently out of work, undergoing intense chemotherapy in hopes that it will help shrink my tumor. In the new year, I will be moving forward with a stem cell transplant to hopefully lead me into remission.
The fact is this is a deadly form of cancer in my brain. I am uncertain when I will be well enough to return to work or live a somewhat normal life again. As positive as my spirits may be, the unknown is still there. I hope chemo can get rid of my tumor because there is so much more to live for: I want to see my baby boys (RJ-2 yrs old & Evan-9 months old) grow up, play in their first tee-ball game, see their smiles on their first day of Kindergarten, their excitement when they lose their first tooth, and so many more memories to cherish throughout their lives. I also want to spend more time with my wife, my rock through this entire process. I want more time with family and friends. I have cancer, but I am praying that it does not rob me of these amazing things life has to offer. This can’t be the end of my story.
I appreciate all donations, but sharing my story is just as important because you never know what tomorrow brings.
I truly thank you all from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and helping in any way you can.
