I’m writing this on behalf of our dear nanny, Doreen.
In her own heartfelt words…
”I’ve had my Marley since he was eight weeks old and since then we have become inseparable. Some may say I treat him like my own child. Even my own children say that Marley idolizes me and the feeling is mutual. He’s always by my side, such a lovely and loyal dog. Most of Noak Bridge know my dog. They always come up and pet him, say hello, and most people around the area know him by name. He’s a real softie, a gentle dog that has never caused any harm. As soon as passers by and strangers meet him, they can’t help but fall in love. Marley sadly fell poorly six weeks ago and since then my world hasn’t been quite the same. My family and my neighbourhood know that I dote on my Marley, I always have and always will. Six weeks ago my life turned upside when I had to take Marley to the night vet, he was examined following a serious nose bleed. Marley was prescribed tablets and it was suggested he should visit PDSA, although following further advice it is evident that they do not have the equipment to carry out the operation that Marley desperately needs. I have been advised by top vets that Marley requires a very serious and invasive operation to investigate and treat him. I’m 87 and I’ve dedicated 9 years of my life to my Marley, and I wish to have him by my side for many more years. Please help me by supporting Marley to getting the help he needs. My boy has been diagnosed with cancer. I need to get him the help he needs to beat this. This is not just two or three thundered pound I need to get together, it’s £6,000. When I was told that by the vet I saw black and didn’t know where to look or turn. To a pensioner this is absolutely devastating, I’m frightened to go out and leave him in case he suffers another traumatic nosebleed, or worse. All I wish for is to get my Marley the help he needs. Every morning we share a cup of tea and some rich tea biscuits together. I don’t want to be in the position where I’m having that cup of tea and biscuits alone. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you ever so much. Doreen Loughnane.”
