Please help me fund my new Tiny Trax wheelchair.

Jacob was born back in 2013 and due to complications with mummy's health, she deteriorated quickly. Onset of septicemia meant that Jacob had to be delivered and quickly. Born at 27 weeks, Jacob had a long road ahead of him.

To look at him now you would never had thought he was ever as fragile as he was during those first few months. Now, 5 years old he is tough as boots (with a determination and attitude to match). Unfortunately his body just isn't as good as his mind. With Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy  all four of his limbs just don't work as he would like them too. However we are lucky enough to be born in an era with amazing technological and medical advances.

For the last 3 years Jacob was lucky enough to be accept for the loan scheme of a Wizzybug powered wheelchair. This gave him the opportunity for independence. I'm not going to lie it didn't work out as expected. The first 2 years were not a success. Over many many attempts he could not get the hang of it. In addition to this and the many periods of hospital visits and illness, poor Wizzy was pushed to the side. However now, Wizzy has been an absolute god send. We reintroduced Wizzy recently and now with his health in a better position, older and Physically stronger the difference is amazing. I have included a video so you can see how good he is using his chair (or his transformer as he calls it).

This has given Jacob not only his independence but the opportunity to play with his brothers and the rest of the family just like another 5 year old boy would. Only 2 days ago the laughter and the joy demonstrated by a simple game of hide the fridge magnet with his elder brother was truly amazing. Such a simple thing that without the use of his powered chair would be totally un-achievable.

The problem we now face is that he is now outgrowing his Wizzybug meaning we are coming to the end of the loan scheme. This means that wizzy will have to go back to the charity and Jacob will be left without his independence once more.

To that end we are now looking at the possibility of getting a larger chair for Jacob. The chair we are looking at is the Tiny Trax. We have been in liaison with Tiny Trax  and we have sourced a quote for a larger chair. The chair we are looking at getting for him will fit him upto 40Kg (approx 11 years old). That is 6 years of use.  However this has been quoted at £6255.  Unfortunately we do not have this kind of money. If anybody can help us as a family it would be truly amazing and would secure Jacobs independence for the next 6 (maybe more) years.

Thank you for taking your time to even read this let alone help us. There really are some amazing people out there Many thanks,

Jacob, Lorraine and Nigel (Mummy and Daddy).
