Please Help Me Give Rosie a Second Chance of Life

Rose is just over 6 months old and has been under veterinary inspection since the 23rd of December due to symptoms of ill health. A x-ray at my local vet revealed she had fluid on both her lungs and an abnormal size heart and recommended that I take her to a specialist vet in Bristol (2 hours away from my hometown) to investigate further. I didn't hesitate and headed straight there. The vet performed a number of diagnostic tests including; heart scan, ultrasound, blood tests and a chest fluid analysis.  During this time I was informed that two other kittens from the same litter as Rose were diagnosed with coronovirus. I informed the vet right away and after analysis she diagnosed Rose with  wet Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP). FIP is the mutated form of coronovirus and the vet said there is no treatment and Rose is terminal. She could not put a time on how long she has until the fluid starts building up on her lungs again. It could be hours, days or weeks but when she starts showing signs of discomfort  I will have no other choice but to euthanize her. When I returned home I begun researching and researching and was put in touch with a company that supplies this drug called GS441524. Unfortunately this drug is  awaiting FDA approval in  this country and therefor is not currently available, however, I have been able to locate and purchase from a company overseas. The downside to this purchase is that the treatment is not covered with Rosies pet insurance :(. This is where the GoFundMe page comes in. I never thought I would start a GoFundMe page but I am pretty desperate. I did everything a responsible pet owner should do, I bought good pet insurance and did my research before purchasing but unfortunately this wasn't enough and now we are in the horrible situation.  Research by Pedersen et al., 2019 treated 31 cats diagnosed with FIP with this drug and out of these 31 cats a massive 25 survived.  Yet, vets in this country say there is no chance of survival but when questioned about GS441524 vets I spoke to did not deny that this drug had shown promising results. Further studies by Murphy et al (2019) supports Pedersens research suggesting that this treatment completely inhibits FIPV production. This means the virus will not keep attaching to a host and spreading. There is lots of other research out there like this which indicates there is a 80% survival rate if cats with FIP are treated with GS441524  I could not imagine saying goodbye to Rosie without a fight not when the odds are in our favour. So will you please help us fight for Rose by sharing her story or donating to her cause. By doing so you'll be granting Rosie a second chance of life <3. Rosie is a very important member of our family. From the moment she entered our home she quickly stole mine and my daughters heart. She is just super social, demanding and tbh abit of a stalker. That is why we love her. She brings so much joy, happiness and laughter to our lives and the house would feel empty without her. So will you please help us fight for Rosie?
