Please help me live an actual life

Hello everyone,

My name is Yasmin and I am 28 years old. Since I was 19 my health has been steadily declining and by now I have quite a bit of health problems. As of right now I don’t know the cause of them yet. The biggest health problem being that I have lessened power and cannot feel the skin of both my feet, up to right under my knees. (It is kinda similar to when you have a limb that is asleep before the tingling happens). This makes it extremely difficult to actually walk around without falling and keeping balance which then causes pain. I have a similar problem with my left arm, just a bit less extreme.

On top of that there is always a constant nerve pain in my left shoulder and spine to my hips and that then goes into my legs.

I would like to make my life a bit more bearable by making some changes in my home and to how i can move around outside. This is where I can use everyone their help. I have asked help with the government but since we haven’t found the cause of this illness, they won’t help. The little money I do receive goes straight into medication and what’s left of it I use to go to physiotherapy sessions. This then helps to keep my muscles of withering.

My biggest goal is that I can buy a good bike that fits my needs and can help me get around better. This would then help with keeping my leftover muscles stronger so that this condition slows down a bit.

I would like to install grips on the wall next to the toilet and shower chair so I can hold myself up and reduce the times I fall.

Next I would also need support socks that help with removing the water in my legs. This would also help prevent some heart conditions.

There are a bunch more of the smaller things but I haven’t looked at them yet since the most important things I already can’t afford.

I have looked into a bunch of options to get some government help but sadly enough a lot of it hangs together with a disability score, and there they want a clear diagnose.

Right now i'm stuck surviving and I would like to actually start living.

Anything at all will be a huge help and greatly appreciated.

Hallo iedereen,

Mijn naam is Yasmin en ik ben 28 jaar. Sinds ongeveer 9 jaar terug is mijn gezondheid enorm achteruit gegaan en ondertussen is er toch vrij veel aan de hand. Momenteel weten we nog steeds niet wat er exact aan de hand is. Mijn grootste probleem is dat ik de huid en binnenkant van mijn voeten en onderbenen niet kan voelen. ( Een beetje zoals wanneer een ledemaat slaapt nog voor het tintelen begint.) Dit maakt het enorm moeilijk om rond te wandelen zonder te vallen of mijn balans te verliezen, wat dan voor pijn zorgt. Mijn linkerarm heeft een gelijkaardig probleem maar dan iets minder extreem.

Bovenop al dat is er altijd constante zenuwpijn in mijn linkerschouder en ruggengraat naar mijn heupen, die dan verder uitstraalt naar mijn benen.

Mijn grootste doel is om een goede aangepaste fiets te hebben die kan helpen zodat ik op plaatsen kan geraken zonder ongelukken. Dit zou dan helpen om mijn spieren die nog werken iets langer goed te houden en zo hopelijk de conditie iets te vertragen. Ook zou ik graag handgrepen installeren aan de muur bij mijn douche en toilet, dit zou dan helpen om minder te vallen.

Ook zou ik specifieke sokken nodig hebben die water in mijn benen verminderen. Hiermee kan ik bepaalde hartcondities voorkomen of toch de kans ervan verminderen.

Er zijn nog een hoop kleine dingen die kunnen gedaan worden maar dit zijn de belangrijkste.

Ik heb al hulp proberen vragen bij de overheid maar jammer genoeg willen zij niet helpen tot er een duidelijke diagnose is.

Elk klein beetje is een grote hulp en ben ik enorm dankbaar voor.
