Please help me pay Coal's vet bill
Donation protected
Hi, I am Anna Gannon
On 1-30-2024, after a 5 mile walk, I notice that my dog Coal had a distended belly.
I called our vet and they said bring him in, we will fit him in, an hour or so later, they called me and told me, that he had fluid in his belly and needed immediate emergency exploratory surgery to find out why. I gave permission.
Two hours later, they called back, his gallbladder had ruptured and was in pieces but with all the adhesions, inflammation and infection, they couldn't tell what was wear or what and they couldn't much of it. They had removed 4 liters of fluid and flushed it with saline.
They gave him a 50/50 chance of survival and did I want to let him go without waking him the surgery. I said I would like a chance to say goodbye.
So they stitched him, gave him some pain meds and antibiotic injections and Trina and I went up to say goodbye.
After talking with the vet, we decide to bring him home for the night and see how it went. At least we would have one more night.
He did well during the night, no pacing, panting, just slept, ate a small breakfast was walking around reasonably well
I updated the vet and we decided to give him a chance. I went up and got all the meds he needed and if he wants to fight to live, I am going to give him that chance.
We got to celebrate his 5th Gotcha Day today, 2-1-2024, (he will be 6 on June 25th), so everyday is a gift.
So please, help me with the vet bill, I am retired and on a fixed income, anything would help. If you can't help with bill, just say some prayers and send positive thoughts for my boy.
