Please help save this young dog’s life!!

Hi, my name is Jenifer Wilson. My goal is to help give this 1-year-old dog a second chance at life. He was hit by a car and left alone to die… He somehow made his way onto a curb in front of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Fort Pierce, FL where passerby’s sadly chose to toss some “munchkins” at him instead of actually finding help for him. Eventually, this disturbing picture popped up on my notifications just after midnight on 3/20/23 of him barely hanging on. It was a cold and rainy night and I had both of my young children sleeping by my side, but I knew I had to do something and think fast. I quickly called 911 instead of wasting a minute more. Fortunately, an officer did come and take him to Animal Control where he was stabilized and sedated. I was later told they wanted to either amputate his front leg or euthanize him. He was not chipped and had no tags. I refused either option and after many calls was led to MedVet, in Jupiter, FL, a skilled and board certified group of surgeons who wanted to save him as much as I did! But, I needed help and that’s where GoFundMe happened. MedVet vowed they could save this poor dog and his leg, but I needed to quickly raise $5,000. With enough support and help I knew saving this dog was not impossible. The funds are guaranteed to go directly to MedVet f.k.a Jupiter Pet Emergency & Specialty Center, where Dunkin’ has already had to undergo 2 different long complex surgeries. The second surgery, which was completely unanticipated, increased the bill up another $4,000 bringing it now to $9,000. This poor baby, now “Dunkin’” hence where he was discovered… has been through hell and back. He’s the most kindest, gentle dog I’ve ever met and like most dogs, all he wants is to be loved and cared for… And that’s exactly what we are doing, as a team! There are still good people out there in this messed up world… It’s times like these we must come together and make a difference. Thank you so much for reading Dunkin’s story and wanting to help! If you cannot donate, I understand, but please share this link on your social media platforms. God bless you and be sure to keep being a kind person.. don’t let the bad in the world change who you truly are. ♥️ Many thanks to ALL who have been so supportive in donating and who will donate, and all who are sharing this link!! You’re all incredible people and we wouldn’t have got this far had it not been for you!

Also want to give thanks to Peggy Arraiz, Director of Community Response at Animal Control in Fort Pierce, FL who took care of Dunkin’ when he was originally rushed in, and gently stabilized him; Fort Pierce Animal Control Officer, Kim Olson who also looked after Dunkin’ and later.. quickly, but safely transported him for his first emergency surgery at MedVet, in Jupiter, FL; MedVet Board Certified Surgeon, Dr. Alex Padron who performed Dunkin’s initial surgery and second emergency surgery; Jessie at the front desk who has been amazing and compassionate through all this, and many of tsome of the nurses there, Heather, Kristen, and Sara - so beyond kind and helpful. And, last but definitely not least, I want to thank the very talented and kind Meghan McRoberts, WPTV - NBC News Treasure Coast Reporter who found out about this story, and came out to personally meet Dunkin’ and I, listened to our story, and aired it on WPTV.
