UPDATE ON MEG’s JOURNEY TO RECOVERY

Donation protected
As the broken-hearted best friends of 18-year-old Meghan Lambie, we are asking for your help!

Six days ago, our worst nightmare was confirmed when Meghan was found unresponsive in her apartment.
Meg had been complaining of severe headaches, a stiff neck, and rashes on her legs. She’d taken herself to Urgent Care but was sent home when mono and step tests were negative.
When we hadn’t heard from her in a day, we reached out to her brother who acted quickly to get the neighbor to check on her.
Paramedics were called and arrived in time to keep her breathing long enough to get to the ER.

For 48 hours Meg remained unresponsive and clung to life in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit as they tried to determine what caused this.
They initially thought it was a stroke, then meningitis, but ruled both out.
Now we know it is a viral infection of the brain (encephalitis).

A week later, Meg is still in Neuro ICU—fighting.

Of ALL of us, Meg is the healthiest and most independent. She works out, eats healthy, attends full time college in Gainesville and has always had a job.
She does everything right, making a health issue like this even more of a shock!

The waiting room has been full with family and friends who love her, sharing stories of Meghan’s resilience, humor, and kindness.
We’re working toward creating the best support group possible.
Those that know and love the family are asking… “What can we do?” and “How can we help?"

Well, Meg does NEED OUR HELP!

While she continues to make amazing progress with cognition, speech, and mobility every day, her path to full recovery will be long.

It will be months before she can drive or go back to work.

The waiting and worrying has been devastating for us, but can you imagine what pain her mom Heather, dad Peter and brother Logan are feeling? An unexplained and unexpected brain infection is an unthinkable thing to happen to your child, and they have not left her side.

So the answer to “What can we do to help?” is to give!!

PLEASE help and give any amount you can.

This is THE FAMILY you want in your corner.

Now, it is our time to give support and relieve some of the burden so the real hard work ahead of the family can continue, without other worries and concerns.

Please help and give Meg some breathing room financially.

Thank you,

Gabby, Jake, Ava, GK, Alyssa, Emily, Quincy, Jack, Grant, Luke, Rian, James, Juleon, Nathan, Miesha + so many more hopeful, broken- hearted friends.
