Please help Melissa afford Fertility Treatments

For as long as I can remember it has been my dream to be a mother and to raise a large family. Unfortunately parenthood is seeming to be less attainable as I move closer to the close of the child baring window.

 

I have a condition called P.C.O.S (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) which is a non curable hormonal imbalance that causes women to suffer from weight gain, excess hair growth, male pattern baldness, hyperthyroidism, and the biggest disadvantage is INFERTILITY.

 

Over the years I have tried everything from natural remedies to modern techniques, less invasive medical procedures, clinical trials and alternative medicines. None of these attempts were successful in producing a healthy pregnancy.

 

The next step in my journey to become a genetic parent is a procedure called IVF (In Vitro Fertilization). In Vitro Fertilization is the process of monitoring a woman's ovulation process, removing an ovum from the ovaries and introducing them to sperm in a culture and allowing them to fertilize. Because of my age and diagnosis I will also need an additional process called I.C.S.I (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) which is a procedure in which a single sperm cell is injected directly into the cytoplasm of an egg to assist in odds of fertilization.

 

In addition to the financial burden of procedure costs, there is the cost of several prescribed hormones and medications that are necessary in the fertility process. One injection alone is $700 (Yikes!!).

 

I don't want the reason that I don’t become a mother to be 'because I couldn't afford it.' I want to be able to say that I did everything possible.
