Please Help Michelle with Her Medical Expenses

Memorial Day of 2021, I saw my daughter Michelle get carried out of the doors of my home in Wisconsin in the arms of her husband Kevin. She had spent the weekend in the hospital throwing up, and I watched her leave thinking “that might be the last time I ever see her alive.” Michelle was less than 100lbs, skin and bones was an understatement. I just couldn’t believe how fast her body had deteriorated between my birthday (April) and Memorial Day.

Many of our friends and family have been asking me how they can help Michelle and Kevin as she continues to recover from her battle with Lyme disease. After thinking about it, I decided to set up another fundraiser for Michelle and Kevin. Financially, this has been extremely difficult for them. Not only is her treatment at Biologix completely out of pocket paying for every visit separately, (the first GoFundMe only covered the first treatment for her), most of her treatments in between visits are also out of pocket. While she is at home in Illinois, Michelle continues different therapies and treatments weekly for her body, many of which are out of pocket (one hyperbaric oxygen chamber session is just under $400 each time she goes) but are necessary to continue gaining her health, strength and weight back! When Michelle was so sick back in the spring, she was having allergic reactions to almost all foods. Thankfully, along with Biologix, they have been able to figure out ways her body will put on pounds/muscle without making her feel sick every time she eats. Michelle has found that eliminating most processed foods, eating certain healthy foods, making almost every meal from scratch, being gluten and soy free, and buying organic, allows her to eat more, gain weight back (she lost roughly 60 lbs at her most sick, it was scary) and she can now eat foods she loves again. This lifestyle change, required for her health, has been another massive expense for them, but absolutely essential for Michelle.

Where she was 9 months ago to now, wow it’s crazy! Michelle went to the “World Renowned” facility in Tennessee, Biologix, last June and it saved her life! Her body was shutting down because she couldn’t eat or keep any calories down. This facility not only got her body to stop shutting down, but they’re working hard to get her body working together again at its best after all it’s been through! It’s a long process. Michelle came home to Illinois, found the treatments her doctors recommended for her while in between treatments at the TN clinic, and she began as many as she could afford. Michelle also got a second opinion from multiple departments/doctors at Cleveland Clinic (one of the best hospitals in the country). Cleveland ran scans, tests, blood work etc and confirmed the treatments in TN are working and healing Michelle and they are in total support of her and the clinic in TN.

Michelle has always been incredibly resourceful, and her health has been no different. She found doctors to heal her, treatments that work for her body, food that agrees with her, a career that fulfills her, and she has the best husband to boot. She is gaining her health back, and I could not be more proud of her.

Michelle and Kevin have found ways of navigating their finances to accommodate Michelle’s treatments, new foods, medicines, and continued care/scans at both Cleveland Clinic and the facility in TN! But that being said, those 0% credit cards only last so long before they start gaining interest. Michelle has gone back to work part time, and she still is attending all her treatments/appointments weekly while working part time hours at the bakery. She also takes daily salt baths to help her body through the process of eradicating the lyme. She continually talks with me about taking on more hours to help their finances, but I know that’s not what she needs to be worrying about right now for her health!

She has been back to the Biologix Clinic in TN two other times since that first initial time back in June and has another appointment set for this summer. She is there each time for a whole week, and it is so expensive! The last two times she went (September and end of January) she was able to stay with my good friend Sue’s daughter, Jaime who lives in Nashville! Jaime and Tyler have graciously allowed her to stay with them, which has truly helped in not having to spend money on staying at a hotel. We could not be more thankful for their generosity! ❤️

Kevin has been supporting Michelle throughout this process in so many ways, and I could not be more grateful for Kevin! But they need our help to manage Michelle’s medical expenses. If you are unable to donate, Michelle has been loving the messages/comments everyone has been sending for support, encouragement and love!

Please message me or text me if you’d like to send Michelle your love through the mail.

Thank you sooo very much, from the bottom heart, for loving and supporting Michelle throughout this crazy health scare!
