Please help Monique and Tim (and family)

Have you ever wondered what would happen or how you would respond if a tragic and traumatic event happened in your life? Perhaps you have: it could be medical, physical, emotional, psychological, flooding of your property or anything like that.
That very thing happened to our friends, Monique and Tim Phinney late in the afternoon on Saturday January 13th as their home was completely destroyed by fire despite the incredible efforts of the local volunteer Fire Departments and Fire Personnel. The close to 100km per hour winds made their efforts to save the property virtually impossible; as the flames were unstoppable. For those that were there, and saw it with their own eyes, it was devastating to observe as these brave men and women battled tirelessly.
The outcome is that our friends are homeless and are left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. They have the endless cuddles and snuggles from their 2 loving and grateful dogs … Jayda and Jorja, both of whom Tim managed to save from the home moments before it was engulfed in flames.
Our friends have insurance of course and are very appreciative of that, however as we all know, this is going to be a long recovery process. As they begin this journey and deal with their grief and mourning and navigate their next steps, they will need a tremendous amount of support.
Our local community East Botsford Rec Center jumped into immediate action and held a fundraiser the following day. Thank you so much to all of those volunteers, their efforts were heroic in their own way. However, as we realize, trying to replace all that was lost, will be next to impossible. A number of us (friends of Monique and Tim) want to help further so we have started this GoFundMePage. Our goal is to provide some financial support as they figure out "what is next".
Tim is a retired Moncton City Police officer and Monique worked as a 911 dispatcher for 19 years… neither of whom is a stranger to traumatic events. They’ve spent their careers helping to support their neighbours and communities through events just like this.
Would you consider making a donation to help them feel your caring nature and support? Kindness given always comes back to us in many forms.
We (Phenny Bryden and I) thank you for taking the time to read this lengthy post and for extending a hand of generosity to them. If you are unable to give, that’s perfectly okay. Perhaps you’d consider sharing the post. That would be very much appreciated.
“Little is much” when it is all put together.
