Hello, my name is Peggy and I am fundraising for Mr. Blake Parker to fulfill his Bucket List.
Please help to make his wishes come true!
Any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
❤️Blake is a sweet young man , 23 years old and has been through so much his entire life, but, he has remained strong through it all. A true fighter. ❤️
❤️He was born with a severe heart defect and other medical issues.❤️
❤️Blake’s heart defect is called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. The left side of his heart - the part that pumps oxygenated blood to the rest of his body, is underdeveloped into two chambers, the left atrium and left ventricle.❤️
❤️He had his first surgery just 4 days after birth, not long after this surgery, the sutures were torn and they had to stop him from bleeding out or tearing even more. As he got stronger, he had a second heart surgery to divert half of his blood to the lungs when circulation through the lungs no longer needed as much pressure from the ventricle. ❤️
❤️Shortly after this surgery, he needed a mechanical valve placed in his pulmonary artery. After a while passed, he had another heart surgery ( at about 24 months ) this one was to connect the vena cava which drains de-oxygenated blood from the lower part of his body into the heart to the pulmonary artery by reconstructing a channel through outside the heart to divert blood to the pulmonary artery.❤️
❤️ He had many stent placements and other procedures to help him with his heart and pulmonary artery. He continued to have many appointments. Had had physical, occupational and speech therapies. He also attended school with specialized teachers. During this time, he was diagnosed with Autism. He’s had many heart catheters to check on the stability of his heart. He had a pacemaker placed due to his electrical system of his heart which made his heart stop beating. ❤️
❤️He was listed for a heart transplant in 2009, but, due to his failing organs, he was a difficult match. He had many hospitalizations as his condition worsened. ❤️
❤️ In December of 2011, Mr. Blake received his gift of life, his heart transplant. ❤️
The heart was actually too large for it to fit into his chest. The doctor’s had to permanently puncture his lung. He had a stroke shortly after his transplant. He lost a lot of his ability to walk, to talk, to eat, etc. ❤️
❤️ His parents have been told, “ Quality of Life vs. Quantity of Life “ is now in play. ❤️
❤️ Therefore, his family, himself & his friends would like to check off as much as they can on his bucket list, which I have provided. ❤️
Please, find it in your heart to give any amount and if any amount can not be given, please say a special prayer for Mr. Blake & his family instead. All prayers are greatly appreciated.
❤️Thank you very much in advance for making Mr. Blake’s wishes come true! He is such a great fighter and very humbled for your help at this time in his life.,❤️
