Please help my broken Weiner

I woke up one day, and Titus was crawling on the floor. His two hind legs immobile as they were dragging on his way to his food bowl, limp. You can see he was holding his pain and trying to wag his tail but failed. In a rush, I took him to our local vet and had X-rays done. The results showed that he had two herniated disks compressing against his spine. This caused his nerves to pinch and cut off any feeling on his legs and could have resulted in permanent paralysis.

Our vet suggested for me to take him to a spinal specialist in Sorrento Valley.

The drive was far but Titus's health was well worth it. Due to his condition, the pain was so severe. With my furkid in my arms, I flew right into the emergency room of that hospital. The Vet there took my boy out of my arms for a quick analysis. Time seems to drag on just sitting in the lobby waiting for results. As she returned with Titus , she gave me two options.

The first option was to operate on his back. Mind you, this surgery is very high risk and not always to be proven successful. The other option was to put him down if a spinal surgery was unsuccessful. With many odds against me, I took the risk and requested for the Vet to perform the high-risk surgery. Of course, I would do anything to help my boy and left him overnight.

Waiting seemed like an eternity. I did not know what to think, but my only hope is that his operation's results would result in the good news. That night, I couldn't sleep.

Two days go by, and I can finally pick up my boy. Operation: SUCCESS! When I returned to the hospital, my boy was exhausted but I could see he was happy to go home. Of course with any vet bill, this was not so good news.
