Please help my childhood friend save his house!

Hello all, my name is Carmelo and those of you who know me I wouldn’t normally be doing this unless it’s honest and truthful, but my childhood friend is like a brother to me and I am raising money for Anthony (Hammer) and his wife Linda DeSanno.

This is the second GOFUNDME that has been created. The first one was a year ago and raised enough funds to keep them above water but we have to do one more and hopefully the last to help them out.

Throughout life, we often think, hope and pray that if we work hard, treat people fairly, and have faith in God, we may be blessed to enjoy our "Golden Years" with a home, basic needs, family, and some good friends. But, as we all know life has many unpredictable obstacles along the way. That is where our loving and supportive family and friends usually step in to lighten the load, offer advice, and support us through these difficult times.
My friend Anthony and his wife Linda are in need of help, so I am taking a leap of faith and trying to RALLY THE TROOPS!!!

Here is their huge and devastating obstacle... For the past 5 years, Anthony's health has been failing with congestive heart failure and lung issues, which has limited his ability to work as a commercial truck driver. Realizing this, they decided to downsize by selling their dream home in Delaware to be closer to family and friends. Trying to settle down in a more affordable retirement community in New Jersey. At this point, they were just about making ends meet but still felt blessed and hopeful to start this new chapter in their senior years. Linda does work but cannot afford it all on her salary. Then March 2023 hits like a freight train!!!!

Anthony was finally offered a cardiac procedure to help improve his health and quality of life, a cardiac ablation. This attempt was a sad disappointment because not only didn't it work, it made his health and their situation worse in every way, It caused more health problems. This procedure began the constant decline in his health and their financial devastation. He currently has congestive heart failure, CIDP- Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, which has left him partially paralyzed, unable to walk or work. Anthony is receiving IVIG treatments to try and repair some of the nerve damage in hopes that he may walk again along with extensive physical and occupational therapy.
Anthony has been in and out of hospitals and rehabilitation centers nonstop since May 27th 2023. His most recent setback was a fractured right ankle which has healed and has through rigorous physical therapy.

On a positive note Anthony has just finally returned home and will be going to local rehab centers 3 times a week and is in search of a job that he can do from home to help make ends meet. They have high medical bills and are on the edge of foreclosure. Which would be devastating!

I created this page with the heartfelt intention to raise money so they can stay in their home as long as possible, have the basic needs we all deserve, and offer them some financial support while Anthony continues his rehabilitation and job search.

Please find it in your heart to donate if you can and please share to as many people as possible, and keep them in your prayers.

I might also add that if there is an unskilled phone position that you are aware of please reach out to me and I will forward it to them.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness and please remember anything helps.
