Please Help My Sisters Family After Sudden House Fire
Donation protected

Hi, my name is Amber, I’m raising money for my sister and her family.
Early this morning, on April 1, 2025, tragedy struck our family when a fire broke out at my late mother’s home, a house that has been in our family for generations. Built by my grandfather in the 1950s, it’s where our family grew up, gathered, and created countless cherished memories. To suddenly lose access to such a meaningful place has been truly heartbreaking.
Due to widespread power outages from the recent ice storm, the fireplace was being used to heat the house. While we’re still waiting on a full assessment, it’s believed that the chimney allowed heat to escape into the walls, sparking the fire.
Thanks to the quick response of the fire department, the flames were contained by tearing down walls surrounding the chimney. We are incredibly grateful that no one was physically harmed, but the home is now unlivable, and everyone who lived there has been displaced.
Living in the home at the time were Shannon, her fiancé Ryan, 8 of their children, along with our aunt and uncle. With Shannon and Ryan caring for both their large family and our aunt every day, this crisis has completely upended their lives. They are currently staying in a motel, but that is only covered for the next 3 days, after that, they’ll need to find alternative arrangements and support.
This home has been especially important to my aunt, who has lived there her entire life. It’s the only home she’s ever known. My sister Shannon is her full-time caregiver, and the sudden displacement has left them feeling stressed and uncertain about what comes next.
With 11 people needing shelter, food, clothing, and transportation and no immediate timeline for returning home, we’re reaching out to our community for help.
We are raising money to support:
- Emergency shelter beyond the initial 3 days
- Daily food and essentials for the children and adults
- Temporary clothing and supplies
- Transportation costs
- Any unexpected expenses that arise while they are displaced
- Long-term recovery efforts as they await the outcome of insurance and repairs
Every dollar helps, and every share spreads the word. If you’re unable to donate, we completely understand, even sharing this campaign means the world.
Shannon has always been the one to put others before herself, especially as she cares for her children and our aunt with love and dedication. Now, they need our support more than ever.
Thank you for reading, supporting, and keeping them in your thoughts during this overwhelming time.
With love and gratitude,
