Please help my family and I through these hard times, Mahalo

Aloha friends and family, this is Andrea, I really hate having to do this and asking for help is extremely humbling and so not me but I just don’t know what to do anymore and my friends and family have encouraged me to do this. My husband has been out of work since December of 2022 due to medical issues that he continues to deal with. He has had numerous visits to the ER and in March of 2023 he was hospitalized for 17 days then more recently he was hospitalized on June 4th of this year and just got discharged yesterday. He was supposed to be discharged to a rehabilitation facility but his insurance didn’t cover it so now he’s home and needing my care. Our medical bills have been piling up and has now gone into collections from his medical stays in the hospital, numerous visits to the ER as well as the ambulance last year and now we will have these new charges as well. To top it all off he can no longer work and since February of 2024 has used all of his disability benefits that he qualified for. In April he applied for permanent disability through SSI but unfortunately that isn’t an easy or quick process. SSI informed us that the process it at least 6 months or up to 240 days that they could take to get his benefits approved. As an example we applied on April 6 and currently we are 19% processed. Until his benefits get approved it has been only my income trying to hold the house hold together financially. I have had some help from some family and friends but now expenses and trying to stay afloat has just gotten out of my control. I’ve taken on a night job, a weekend job plus I hold a full time job with the Murrieta Valley School District as well.I am extremely thankful to those I work because they have worked with me in keeping my job even though I have taken a lot of time off and emergency leaves to care for my husband. Currently we are in summer school and I’ve signed up to do that as well but with having to take care of my husband and work my other jobs there’s just not enough of me to do both but I’m doing the best I can. I was hoping that medical would cover him being at a rehabilitation facility so I could feel confident that he’s being taken cared of while I’m at work but now I don’t have that as an option. My girls have been not only trying to take care of their own families but they’ve also been doing all they can to pitch in to help Keone and I as well. I just feel so defeated like nothing I do is ever enough. Just when I feel ok we can do this, there’s another set back. I’m just out of options but to ask for help to help our family with our household expenses, rent, food, monthly bill just until Keone’s disability benefits start up. Mahalo Nui Loa
, which in Hawaii means a big thank you in advance for caring, for your prayers and for helping any way that you can. Everything is greatly appreciated and we are thankful.
