Please help my friend Timothy Trammell

Yesterday, I learned that my friend and neighbor Timothy Trammell, who has been been living in an apartment above mine, has until Aug. 31 to vacate his apartment. The issue appears to be his dog Red.
Red is a friendly and obedient five-year-old pitbull that Timothy loves, but does not have the money to take care of. He asked me to find a new home for Red, and that is happening as I create this fundraiser. To be clear, this is not for the dog, but the man.
By the time you read this, Red will be in a new home with an owner who can afford to have him fixed, vaccinated and treated for his flea allergies. The fleas and Timothy’s refusal to put Red on a leash or have him fixed are probably one reason why his lease has not been renewed. He is aware of this.
But Timothy is unemployed, in his seventies, on public assistance and is having to find a new place to live. He is well-known and loved in my College HIll neighborhood, and I have been asked to start a fundraiser for him.
Besides the usual expenses related to anyone is his circumstances having to find a new residence, he has a car that he has not been able to afford repairs for, and it is currently being held by the shop where he took it months ago.
My name is Ian McDowell and I am a writer and journalist who has lived in the College Hill neighborhood for over two decades. I’ve known Timothy for about a year, and he’s been a fine quiet neighbor. I would love for him to stay in my building, but I do not believe that is possible, as property management seems to be in within their rights to not renew his lease, especially after Red’s fleas spread to another apartment and that tenant complained.
Timothy has told me that he does not wish to stay in this building, as the steep stairs have been very hard on him, and he does not feel is able to keep Red.
