Please Help My Mom, Shana, To Walk Again

Hi, my name is Chad and I am fundraising for my Mother, Shana.

In the last 7 months, my mom had three major, life changing surgeries. It all started in December, with a Lumbar Fusion on her back. A few weeks later, after the back surgery, she had noticed swelling in her foot. She got checked out by the doctor and they had run a lot of tests and diagnosed her with Chondrosarcoma, which is a cartilage cancer. The only way to get rid of the cancer was to amputate the ligament. Then, the news got worse and they had to run a pet scan to see how far they would have to amputate. The pet scan had shown a spot behind the knee. The doctor had to bring more bad news that it wouldn’t just be the foot or the lower leg but she would have to amputate above the knee. This was done on May 13th 2021. The third surgery happened the day after Father’s Day June 21st 2021. My mom had to be taken to the Emergency Room with a fever of 102.6. In the ER, after tests, they had discovered that she had developed Necrotizing Fasciitis, which is a Flesh Eating Bacteria, near her pelvis. Currently, my mom is doing her absolute best to recover from her latest ailment. The wound is almost completely healed. She has been told that she can start the process for being fit for her prosthetic once the wound is completely healed. Needless to say, with all the hospital visits and treatment, the medical bills are ENORMOUS. My mom was told by her prosthetic therapist that her replacement limb will cost in the thousands.

We have been so grateful for both sides of our family as they have been so generous in helping us out with getting our house remodeled to accommodate my mothers needs, However,at this point, I have decided to reach out for more help with expenses. My mom has had to go on disability her income is no where as much as it used to be when she was working full time.

Before these surgeries, my mom was a very active and independent person. She always loved to work outside. Whether it was working on the lawn or working on her flowers. It breaks my heart that I am watching my mom suffer with not being able to walk and do the things she loves to do most and stress over everything else. Any help you could give would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.
