Please help my son Jim to stay off of the streets

Hi my name is Angie and I am starting this gofundme for my son Jim Gaines. Please help him! Please don't let him be homeless for a crime he didn't commit.

Not quite two years ago, my son, who suffers from an anxiety disorder and extreme daytime sleepiness (so it takes him a while to wake up), received a visit from his local police department saying they were there to offer help to someone. The fear of having guns drawn on him and not being fully awake when he got the knock on the door caused him to ramble on. He knew he hadn't done anything to warrant the over reach of police force but because of his anxiety disorder and sleep deprivation ramblings he is now charged for a crime he did not commit.

From the beginning, my son cooperated fully with the search of his home and other possessions. He fully answered the investigator's questions and since they didn't find anything, no arrest was made. Before the officers left, they confiscated some personal items and informed him the rest of the investigation would take no more than three to six months and if they still couldn't find anything he would receive a call to pick up his things. That was almost two years ago and they still haven't found anything. This prolonged process has caused my son extreme undue hardship.

Due to the nature of the charges my son was suspended from work without pay. Finances were not a problem at the time because he had just sold his home. The money he made off of the sale of his home and his unemployment benefits was enough to last him until he was either reinstated at work or found another job. My son tried really hard to hold it all together these last two years but he now needs your help.

The monies from my son's home were spent trying to stay afloat over these past two years and his unemployment benefits have since run out. The pandemic further intensified his hardship. Not being able to find a new job nor being able to keep his old one has put my son on the verge of becoming homeless not to mention his stressed induced health issues or outrageous legal fees for something that was totally unanticipated and unwarranted.

My son needs help with his medical bills that now total over three thousand for his leg that he is still having problems with and still needs meds for. Though my son's leg looks better than what I posted. I just wanted you to see what hopelessness, depression and an anxiety disorder can cause. He almost lost his leg.

My son needs help with other medications and to be protected from the elements. Once you are on the streets, it becomes extremely hard to move upwards from there.

PLEASE DON'T LET MY SON END UP ON THE STREETS.
