Please Help My son Malik Simmons and our Family

Hello, My name is Kevin Simmons, father of Malik Simmons. On July 3rd, 2022, my son was walking to his friend's house, one of the only people he hangs with. He was walking down the sidewalk, and a young man began to taunt him, "Malik has to walk through here to get back home." Anybody who knows my son knows that he didn't like physical altercation. Malik turned around and asked him what he was talking about. The young man approached my son with brass knuckles, and that's when the physical altercation began. Eventually, Malik won the altercation, with minimum visual injury to either party. Malik ended up walking back home, but the young man who started the altercation contacted his mother, who showed up a few minutes later. Everything seemed fine when the mother showed up to our house, wondering if the fight was one-on-one, and what they were fighting for. She then proceeded to her car, but then asked how old my son was. "I'm 16", Malik Explained. The young man's mother then said, "No the **** you aren't, but that's alright i got something for your ass.". After she returned to her vehicle, somone pulled up next to her and explained what she wanted to be done, im assuming. That same car drove past my home more that 5 times within 2 hours. a few hours after that, my kids had just got done cleaning up the fireworks that they had a great time watching. Everyone was getting settled in and Malik was the only person in the kitchen (around 12:30a.m), when he heard a knock on the door. Wondering who it was, my son looked out the small window at the top of the door, and was shot in the forehead. With the 4th being the next day I thought it was just fireworks, unitl i heard a big thump on the floor. My wife, Malik's mother, and I ran upstairs to bullet holes in the wall and to my son laying on the floor with blood rushing from his skull. My 12 year old daughter, Jelisa, was in the bathroom on the other side of the kitchen wall where a bullet went through the wall and 3 inches over her head. I have 2 other sons who are older than Malik, Kevin who's the oldest, and Joshua, who's the middle boy. We were all in total shock saying, "PLEASE LET THIS BE A DREAM", "PLEASE LET ME WAKE UP AND EVERYTHING WILL BE NORMAL". My wife, sitting there holding our son on the floor asking," why did this have to happen to us", "what would compell somone to do this". He was eventually rushed to the hostpital with a single gunshot wound in the forehead. The amount of pain that this has created, its just something i've never thought i'd feel before. Our entire family is just having a hard time dealing with the fact that, my son may never return to us. Malik is sitting in the hospital fighting for his life all because someone got roughed up?!?! Our home, we cant even return to, in fear of another knock on the door that might end up taking a life. Malik had his whole life ahead of him! Now my son has to live a life in pain and agony. He may never remember his family, he will never get to play another game of basketball, the sport he loved with all of his heart! His brothers, my other two sons, my never get to have another coversation with their little brother! WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO US, IT ISNT RIGHT. Now he's on life support literally fighting for his life, it's just unbearable. Malik was loved by everyone. I just cant believe that this happened to my son. Now. my family has no home to return to, the few things we want to take have to be in storage, and medical bills ony pile up and its becoming more than my family can bare. Please Please Please have a heart and help us get through this tough time. No matter how much you can spare, anything helps our family, even if its just a prayer, we appreciate you with every bit of our hearts. Thank You, and God Bless!
