Help save Fella and her 5 children from Gaza

Welcome to my GoFundMe page! Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and your support means a great deal to me. By working together, we can change things and succeed in saving Fella Khaled's family. I appreciate your involvement in this journey!

My name is Nadia, and I am fundraising to urgently help Fella and her 5 kids to escape from Gaza due to the escalating violence and instability in the region.

Fella Khaled Abu Khadija, is stuck in Gaza with her 5 children: Saba Al-Najjar, Hussein Al-Najjar, Samir Al-Najjar, Rafif Al-Najjar, and Safia Al-Najjar, of which the youngest is only 3 years old:

Before the war on Gaza, Fella describes her life as beautiful and peaceful. She lived in Khan Younes with her young children. Fella loved cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Fella would decorate her home to celebrate special moments with her close relatives.

Since the war began, they were forced to escape, leaving them homeless in the southern part of Gaza. They faced deprivation without any means of sustenance as they were forced to live in a tent with scarce necessities. Fella was unable to purchase food, clothing, let alone milk or even pampers for her infant Safia.

What seemed like a short while, became what seemed like infinity. Fella and her family experienced several difficult moments over the course of the past 248 days, including fasting for Ramadan with no food to break their fast, and celebrating Eid without knowing if friends or family members were still alive. Like any child, the children are scared of what they are going through and live in constant fear of life's uncertainties and what might happen to them at any given time.

During the short humanitarian pause, Fella returned to her home in Khan Younes for the first time since the war began, which was almost unrecognisable due to the levels of destruction (shown below).

Rafah, where Fella and her children were seeking safety, was recently invaded by Israeli soldiers. They are once again displaced and are surrounded by the devastation of the conflict. They must be immediately relocated to a better, safer area since their condition is extremely dangerous, and the horrors of the war surround them.

Our goal is to raise £40,000. The funds will cover the costs associated with their escape and resettlement:

  • The cost of coordinating each family member's travel to Egypt is: £5,000
  • The remaining £10,000 will be used towards food, medicine, etc. and their resettlement.

Currently, they are living in a poorly protected plastic tent. They don't have access to bathrooms, and because there isn't enough water, they can only take bucket showers very rarely. When food is available, it is cooked over firewood, which leads to unappealing and unhealthy meals. The sounds of drones and missiles loom over their heads as they try to sleep each night, not knowing whether they will make it to the next morning.

I am urgently requesting assistance from you via this GoFundMe page. The war has turned their lives upside down and taken away all they once treasured. They are currently in severe need of financial assistance so they can flee and survive. No matter how small a donation is, it will have a significant impact on their journey from the verge of death in Gaza to the safety and hope of a new beginning.

Together, let's clear the path for Fella's family to a better future, one that is filled with peace and the prospect of repairing the damage that war has ruthlessly caused. With your help, Fella and her children can hope for a future where they are safe, secure, and free from fear - just as every child and mother deserves.

Thank you everyone!

Note: All funds will be sent to Fella's sister, who lives in Egypt. Following that, Fella will receive the funds so she can save her family, cover the cost of organising their transportation from Gaza to Egypt, and provide for their daily needs and medical care. However, if the crossing and border are blocked at any time and we are unable to evacuate them, the donations will be used for their survival, including food, shelter, water, medicine, clothing, and other basic and necessary essentials. The money you donate will be spent towards keeping them alive.
