Please Help My Uncle Jay in his Burn Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, Jay Rogers , my uncle, was involved in an explosion caused by a generator and is in a Burn and Frostbite center and needs some help. His hands, chest, face and throat were all severely burned and the doctors placed him in an induced coma.
It is still unknown how much this will cost us financially and we are still unsure of the list of recovery steps this will entail.
He was living alone with his two dogs and thankfully his neighbors found him, saving his life, and were kind enough to care for his dogs for now. I imagine Jay living alone for the near future may be hard if not impossible.
Like most of us, he was struggling financially during the pandemic and now beyond financial struggles, he is going to be facing some seriously tough times in the future.
My family and I are in the process of doing everything we can to make his road to recovery less painful and it would help immensely if you or anyone you know can donate. Even the smallest amount you can afford will help Jay in more ways then I can describe here. My mom and I plan to fly out to see him as soon as he wakes up from the medically induced coma and I am hoping to have some good news when he wakes up to reduce the sadness and pain he will be experiencing.
Please spread this if you can, and thank you all for your support.
[Update 3/5]
Thankfully Jay (John) is recovering extremely well. He has had a number of surgeries (skin grafts) and is he outlook on life is extremely positive. The doctors and nurses were praising him as a their model patient, being extremely kind and humble something they said is rare to see. I spoke with him a few times yesterday and he is looking forward to the future and isn't going to let this set him back. He is very moved and appreciates everyone's kindness. He thanks everybody and wants you all to know that he feels and gives his love to everybody. He is still in intensive care at the moment but he is looking forward to getting out of the hospital and continuing forward although that might not be for about another month. Thanks again to everybody. I hope you all feel a bit of warmth from the support you have given. It truly means a lot and it will help a good soul be able to strap back in and continue their journey in life. I will update this once a week, maybe earlier if there is important information to communicate. If anybody wants to reach out, writing a get well email or something similar, I will be creating an email dedicated for Jay that he can view when he is well enough that they allow him.
