Please help Natalie beat Appendiceal Cancer!

Please let us share a few things about our dear friend, Natalie Jo Volz.

Natalie is a 47 year old kind, sensitive, brilliant, determined woman. Natalie has more friends than we can count and remembers all of their birthdays (and usually every other important date in their lives). She is a dedicated learner with degrees in healthcare, finding career passion in helping Seniors rehab and caring for all the beautiful children in her life. She adores Colorado, especially those majestic Rockies, is a lifelong distance runner and never misses a workout. Natalie is so much more than words can describe…

Unfortunately in May 2023, we were shocked to discover cancer found its way to Natalie’s healthy body. And not just cancer, but a very rare and vicious metastatic cancer: appendiceal. Most of us didn’t even know this type of cancer existed. Throughout 2023, Natalie underwent treatment with surgery, rehab, and chemotherapy and responded well.

Sadly in late 2023, Natalie lost her job of 12 years at Children’s Hospital of Colorado, where she did research, most of which was for pediatric oncology patients. Natalie is single, so this news means she is taking a large pay cut during an incredibly difficult time. True to Natalie, she is hunting and interviewing for a new job, despite her treatment course.

We are all very optimistic about Natalie’s recovery because if anyone can beat this brutal cancer, SHE can… and SHE WILL! Any support you can offer Natalie in her journey, which will be ongoing, would be much appreciated. Should a new job be delayed, she will use funds to cover cobra health insurance coverage, medical bills, rent, car payments, and groceries.
