Friends and Family,

I need your help. Friday night 12/10 I fell to the ground because of some excruciating pain in my lower back near my sacrum. I could barely walk and every step was extremely painful. Two days later, I went went to an emergency clinic where all they could do was prescribe me some pain medication and tell me I needed to see a physical therapist. Yesterday, I was seen by a back specialist where I had x-ray imaging done. The results I got back were not what I had hoped they would be. It seems that I have fractured a vertebrae in my lumbar, and a crushed disk, and my sacrum is sitting at an almost 90 degree angle. Amongst all of this, I also have some vertebrae in my neck that are showing signs of deterioration due to repeated injury without proper healing care.

I admit that in the past I have not been kind to my body, in many ways. I am working to set a different standard now. I have an extremely high pain tolerance and I tend to push through, or become comfortable, with pain, but this scary for me and not something I can push through any longer.
The clinic that I am seeing, unfortunately, does not take my insurance (Medicaid) and everything is coming out of pocket. They are working with me on some costs, but I still will not be able to afford my next apt for an MRI. Once I can get an MRI, we can start to put together a plan to healing and recovery.

I have run dry in all my financial accounts, and will not be able to cover any medical appointments ahead or many daily living expenses because I can not work. I do have an incredible opportunity to be working and growing at Banfield Veterinary Hospital, but can no longer go back until I am cleared by my doctor. It is important for me to be working as soon as possible because this means that I will get health benefits sooner, Kaya will also be taken care of, I can go to school, and James and myself can start to pay off some bills and put some money in savings to rent a home of our own.

"Don't stop before the miracle happens."
I feel as if I have hit my bottom many times, and this moment could very well feel like complete defeat, but it doesn't. In many ways my heart feels full for all the the incredible folks in my life, and grateful for the humble living that I can provide. There are many days, in the past, I would be worrying about how we're going to eat, how I will provide for Kaya, how will we have a safe space to rest, what if an emergency happens? I can increase this list ad infinitum. Today, these things are ones that I have to look at every day, but I have faith that all will be as it should. I have grown to see that so long as I stay in gratitude, openness, willingness, service to others, and patience much more will be revealed.
I understand that this is just another challenge, not a problem. It is a prime chance for me broaden my mental understanding of myself, develop healthier bodily habits, and heighten my spiritual connection with the Great Spirit I call God.

If you are able to help me, I am endlessly thankful. If not, please keep me in your prayers.
I love all of you so much, I give thanks for you, and I pray for your joy, health and prosperity.
