Please Help the Hanna-Evola Family (Nazareth Fire)

Sadly, On Sunday, 6/5/2022, another of our Nazareth area neighbors, the Hanna/Evola amily,  faced a devastating house fire on Lynnwood Drive in Upper Nazareth Township. Two adults and three small children have been displaced by the fire. The garage is completely gone, the left half of the house is destroyed inside, and the remaining portion is severely damaged by smoke and water damage. Heartbreaking...

Over the years, more than a few of our friends and neighbors have faced terrible house fires and the Nazareth community has always stepped up and come together to help. Since that terrible New Street fire over a decade ago, we've raised tens of thousands of dollars that helped many different families... too many.

This fundraiser was being set up on behalf of the family by me (Ben Miller) with the support of mutual friends of the family and many  wonderful people  in our community. As always, 100% of the proceeds donated through this fundraiser are going to the Hanna/Evola family,  and will be deposited directly into their bank account when they're ready. I have turned over control of the fundraiser to Josephine Evola (the mother) and she is now able to set up direct deposit of the donations through a secure portal with GoFundMe. At no point in the process can anybody else, myself included, have access to the money.

A common question we often hear during fundraisers like this regards homeowner's insurance. What most people don't realize is that insurance claims require a complete inventory of everything lost or damaged, which is exactly as exhausting and intrusive as it sounds. In the process, there's a whole lot of small things that don't get covered and add up to a major problem for the family, along with that large deductible that needs to be paid. We aim to not just help cover the cost of the deductible and the items not replaced by insurance, but also give a tangible show of support for some really good people going through an incredibly difficult time.
