Please Help Our Abaco, Bahamas Family and Friends

Our Dear Friends and Family, 

As you all know, I was born and raised in the Bahamas. My family has lived in Abaco, Bahamas for more than 20 years. My parents, Hamfreth and Elaine Rahming, cousins, other family, and an abundance of family friends all still live in Abaco. 

Unfortunately, Hurricane Dorian has caused catastrophic destruction to our home island of Abaco.  If you have not seen aerial view photos, the majority of the homes, businesses, schools, churches, and so much more have been destroyed; deaths have occurred, and many have been left sick, injured, or have passed away. 

Thankfully, my family is physically safe, but their island has lost so much and is in need of great help. My parents are currently residing in Nassau with my sisters, but our future plan is not yet determined. Our home is not liveable due to extreme damage.  Many of our friends and church members have lost their homes. Abaco is in great need of support to help obtain food, clothing, shelter, and so much more at this time. 

Through this Go Fund Me page, we ask that you help my family and  friends on my island to obtain things that are needed at this time. 100% of the money through this page will be used to obtain/afford shelter, food, clothing, and eventually supplies and items to help rebuild homes. Any help we can get is truly appreciated. The locals in the Bahamas are already less fortunate with resources compared to us in the United States and to see them lose all they own including their homes is heart breaking. 

We are all so thankful for any contribution that you can make. We will also be physically collecting supplies that are needed and shipping them down to the Bahamas within the next few weeks. For more information, please contact Virginia or me.
