Please help our beloved friend Pamela Flores

Hi! Cindy Quandt-Guerra, Dr. Vicki Millican and I (Karen Blessen) are asking for your generosity to help our friend Pamela Flores in a time of medical and housing emergency.

Once in the 29 Pieces family, always in the 29 Pieces family. Pamela was on the 29 Pieces teams who worked on the Dallas LOVE Project and the Piece 24 Project. If you were one of the ten thousand artists who contributed art to the Dallas LOVE Project, Pamela’s sensitive hands most likely handled your art. She sorted through all the art to repair any that had pieces falling off or needed a little loving touch of repair. Without Pamela’s dedication to the LOVE Project, the art would not have withstood its lengthy public display. Pamela is an artist in her own right whose talents include ceramics, collage art, painting, and graphic design.

Now Pamela desperately needs our loving touch and financial support. Pamela is fighting Stage 3 bladder cancer. She’s been through several major surgeries, had her bladder removed and is soon beginning chemotherapy. Pamela is a single mom of three and grandmother to one. She has worked as a free-lancer for most of her working life. Cancer wiped away any sense of financial security that Pamela had, along with the energy and stamina to continue work in any way, shape or form.

The three of us are helping Pamela to regain a measure of stability so that she has six months of expenses covered and can focus on her treatment and getting well. Pamela needs $25,000 in our help for rent, utilities, food, and transportation to and from Parkland Hospital for cancer treatment. She does not have and cannot afford a car at this time.

For every gift of $100 or more, we will send you an 8 x 10 print of the ice-skating angel that Karen originally did for Neiman Marcus nearly 30 years ago.
