Please Help Our Friend Dean

Hi, my name is Doug. My very good friend Dean McElwain, from Nanaimo B.C. experienced a tragic fire early on Tuesday, July 25, just after midnight at his home.

All three inhabitants and a pet thankfully escaped safely but the house was destroyed.

The house wasn’t just the family home, or just Dean's home, it was a safe place for so many people. Dean always had an open door, a meal, and a shower for anyone who needed it, no questions asked. He is the consummate host; always looking out for everyone.

Those who know Dean know of his generosity, how much he always gives to everyone else in his relationships, business commitments and family.

Dean worked from home, his professional equipment, all personal items, clothes and memorabilia were lost.

Dean always ensured the very best in anything he committed to. He is a wonderful person who is devastated by the fire and his life now upside down. He encouraged friends not to do this for him but we strongly believe he deserves our moral and, where possible financial support at this very difficult time.
