Please help our mom Dawn Kerby overcome Leukemia!

Hi, our names are Madison Krabbe(Kerby) and Shae Kerby, and we are raising money to help my mom through her Leukemia diagnosis.

In December of 2021, we were slammed with the unexpected news that our mom, Dawn Kerby, had Leukemia. Since then, she has gone through five grueling rounds of chemo, heart surgery, more blood transfusions than she can count and most recently, a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, Dawn did not have health insurance through much of this devastating journey. And the journey is nowhere close to being over. We are trying to raise money to pay for Dawn's living expenses for the next several months. On August 1st, she will be discharged from the University of Kansas Hospital after receiving a bone marrow transplant. However, she must stay near the hospital for approximately 2 1/2 months in respite care housing and make daily visits back to the hospital. Her current Health Insurer will not cover her respite care, and we are trying to raise money to cover the cost of this respite care for her.

Our mom has spent her entire life helping and giving to others. She is the most selfless person we have ever known. From working with troubled adolescents to caring for developmentally disabled adults to helping friends, family, and even strangers, our mom has always been one to help others. So many people have reached out to us over the last few months and shared how much she has impacted their lives in one way or another.

Now we are asking you to help our mom. As you can imagine, spending six months (and counting) in the hospital has taken a significant toll on our mom's finances. She still has a long road ahead of her. Please help us support our mom so she can continue recovering from the bone marrow transplant and have the best medical care. The following three months are critical for her recovery, and we need your help by contributing money to help her make it through the next 120 days.

We are trying to raise $10,000 to cover her respite care and living expenses for the next three months. We are hoping and praying for her recovery, and we need your help to ensure that she has the best chance of healing and surviving. We are counting on her to be part of our growing family well into the future and to be able to enjoy our friends and family members, especially her newly born granddaughter.
