The amazing PJ is a little boy full of love and giggles who brightens your day with just a smile!
In May of 2022 the amazing PJ was diagnosed with Brigada Syndrome and Synod disfunction. He ended up getting para-influenza which showed the cardiologist that his heart was having Afib. They put PJ on a holster monitor for at home and gave him his first prescription of Beta blocker. In January of 2023 PJ was brought to the hospital for an emergency surgery for his pacemaker to be put in. He had a successful surgery and the pacemaker was functioning normally. Throughout the next couple months he started to experience
VTECH( Ventricular tachycardia). Which unfortunately became a lot more serious due to the fact that he would become unconscious and have irregular breathing. October of 2023 he had his worst episode yet, which was 13 minutes of VTECH( ventricular tachycardia) this caused him to completely slip into a syncope. After CPR performed by his father medics arrived and he was taken by helicopter to Orlando. We were told that with PJ’s excelled growth rate he would need stronger medication but was not old enough yet for a pacemaker with a defibrillator; so they can't give him any other medication until he can receive that procedure . They raised his medication dosage and referred us to Dr Ackermans team, which only come to FL for about a week out of the year at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville FL. They want PJ to get a procedure done called "cardiac-sympathetic Denervation". Which they will go through pjs neck and take out a certain adrenaline nerve from his heart. Unfortunately the surgeon to do this procedure is only located in Rochester Minnesota. The Mayo Clinic here in FL or MN do not take PJ’s insurance. It is crucial that we get to his appointment in February 2024 with Dr. Ackermans team to assess PJ and see how much time we have to get this procedure done out of state.
Thank you for reading PJ’s story and considering a donation to help with costs of travel and procedures. All donations are truly appreciated.
