Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Hearts,
My name is Blair MacGillis.
I'm reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, but also with hope and determination. My sister-in-law, Rhona MacGillis, has been courageously battling stage 4 thymic carcinoma for the past two years. Despite her unwavering strength and resilience, the treatments thus far have been unsuccessful in halting the progression of this relentless disease.
Rhona is not just a fighter; she's a loving mother to two boys, Corey and Curtis, and a devoted wife to Mike MacGillis. Her selflessness and dedication to others extend beyond her family. She is a careers adviser, helping both school kids and adults to find the career or the job that is suitable for them. More recently, she has also set up a video blog within her company to demonstrate techniques to her colleagues that can help them with stress and anxiety.
Despite undergoing numerous treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and sunitinib, the cancer has continued to spread. Now, we are exploring every possible avenue to save Rhona's life, including seeking treatment at renowned cancer hospitals in Canada, the US, Holland and Belgium.
Over the past two years, Rhona has also transformed her diet, removing all sugar and most carbs and following a mostly plant based diet. She has also taken up kundalini yoga, breathing exercises and other exercises to offset anxiety.
However, the financial burden of such extensive treatment and travel expenses is immense. That's why we are turning to our community, friends, and compassionate souls like you for support. Every dollar raised will directly fund Rhona's travel and the cost of her treatment, giving her the chance she so desperately needs to continue fighting. The funds will also go to help the family with time taken away from work and day to day bills that arise in the coming months.
Please, in this time of dire need, I implore you to share this message far and wide. Your generosity and kindness could make all the difference in the world for Rhona and our family. Together, we can stand by her side in this battle against cancer and offer hope where it's needed most.
Thank you, from the depths of our hearts, for your consideration, support, and prayers. Your contribution, no matter how small, could help save a life and bring light to our darkest hour.
With deepest gratitude from the MacGillis and Freeman family!
