Please help Ryan fix a painfully broken tooth
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ryan.
Last Thursday, I inexplicably broke one of my teeth in half. That afternoon I managed to get one of the last dental appointments in town it seems before the Christmas break. The good news is I was told I have really great teeth and that my broken tooth could be saved. The bad news is I would require a root canal and crown to do so. The total for these services, including that day's visit, would be $3900 give or take a hundred bucks depending on how things went.
I have an appointment for the root canal this coming Thursday, January 4th, and hope to be able to keep it as my tooth is causing me so much pain and more each day. This is the kind of pain that hits like a bolt of electricity and does not abate in the slightest for an hour or more, if anything it grows and envelopes my whole skull and neck and shoulders and brings me to the edge of a panic.
The root canal will cost $1600. Payment is due upon treatment. Following that I will need a special cleaning and crown which will cost another $1600. Those two services will be done in separate appointments and payment can be made in two installments, one at each appointment.
Real quick for those of you who don't know me, I live in Lafayette, Louisiana. I am lucky and proud to be a father to Ollie and a husband to Sarah. I am a musician, recording engineer, photographer, event coordinator and strategic communications specialist. I was unexpectedly laid off last spring and have since been staying afloat by doing freelance communications work, Ubering, and slowly selling off my record collection and music gear, while applying to any and every even sort of suitable job I can. Most recently I have been working as a prep cook at Scratch Farm Kitchen.
Due to my current financial situation I do not qualify for Care Credit or Medicare, and have't been able to afford medical coverage, let alone dental, since being laid off.
I know things are tight for everyone right now, and it's the holidays so any extra cash has likely already been spent, and of course there are so many horrors in the world deserving of all of our attention. But if after all that anyone has it within their means to help me fix and save my tooth I would appreciate it deeply.
If you can't help out by making a donation, no matter how small, no worries at all. If you can share this campaign instead, that too would be deeply appreciated. And if sharing is too weird, I get it, no worries there either. I appreciate your best wishes, commiseration and solidarity in either case.
Thank you.
