Please Help Sam at this difficult time

Hi All!

If you don’t know me my name is Tammy Taylor. Sam Bovingdon is my close friend. Sam and I met in Kuala Lumpur airport in 2012. We got talking when my son Riley and Sam’s daughter Dakota started playing together. We discovered that we were both from Adelaide and both lived in Craigmore 5 mins from each other and we have been close friends ever since. Coming up to 12 years in May.

So here is where I need your help!

My beautiful friend Sam has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer

In August Sam started saying she had stomach pain. A couple of us mentioned to her to get it checked, As we were in a car accident at the end of July and her car took the whole hit.

Since then Sam has had lots of scans and tests to find out what’s going on. Back in October tests found a 20cm cyst on one of her ovaries. Which resulted in Sam needing to have a full hysterectomy on the 14th November 2023

That’s when she got the devastating news confirmed that she had cancer.

The problem was that it looked like ovarian cancer but wasn’t consistent of ovarian cancer. So now she needed more tests and scans to find out where the cancer has come from. After having more tests and scans they still couldn’t find out where this cancer had started from.

On the 21st December Sam had a PET scan and they sent her cyst from her ovary to Victoria to break it down more to see if that can give the doctors more answers to try help find where the cancer had started from and if it had spread.

January 2nd 2024 she got the devastating news that the cancer started in her bowel and sadly it has spread to her liver, lungs and stomach and she will need to start chemo next week.

So here’s why im asking you all for some help. Sam hasn’t be able to work since her hysterectomy. Ivan has also had to take time off work to help take care of Sam, take her to her appointments and look after their 3 beautiful girls Dakota 13, Darcy 9 and little Dayna 3.

So myself and some others want to help raise some money to help Sam, Ivan and the girls at this difficult time. It’s enough to have to deal with cancer and having to do chemo let alone worrying about how you’re going to pay your bills, school fees, sports, medication and anything else that pops up in between

Sam has helped me a lot when it has come to raising money for cancer. My sister in-law Miranda was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. Sam helped me bake all the hundreds of cupcakes I sold . She also help me with the fundraiser I organised when my best friend Tammy was diagnosed with breast cancer. So I’m hoping I can do it all again to help her. If anyone ever needed anything Sam will always try and help.

I would like to try make life a little easier while she fights this horrible disease. I know times are tough but if you can spare anything it would be greatly appreciated.
