Please Help Sapphire Fight Leukemia(AML)

Hello everyone, our daughter MAYRIANNE SAPPHIRE TAGALO is a 9-year-old female from Basak, Cebu City, who was recently diagnosed with ACUTE MYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA (AML). On the first week of April, she was noted to have cough and colds and low-grade fever which persisted despite the usual medications and was eventually associated with blood-tinged nasal discharges. She was later on noted to have bulging of the right eye and was seen by an ophthalmologist who requested for a cranial MRI. The MRI revealed soft tissue densities in the sinuses and nasopharyngeal area. She has advised admission under ENT service for possible biopsy, and the CBC done as part of the pedia clearance prior to the procedure revealed high white cell count, low hemoglobin and low platelet count. Packed cell transfusions were done and the patient was referred to a Pediatric Hematologist. Bone marrow aspiration was done and the findings revealed morphology consistent with that of ACUTE MYELOCYTIC LEUKEMIA (AML). This is a blood malignancy that is potentially curable with intensive chemotherapy.

She’s currently experiencing fever, vomiting, hair loss, fatigues, and severe mouth ulcers (gums, tongue and throat), and her body is now susceptible to all kinds of infections.

That needs antibiotics, blood transfusion(rbc) and apheresis for her platelet for plasma transfusion. She fought and survived and her day usually spent passed out from the drugs they had to give her. She lost a lot of weight, but my daughter is a fighter.

We badly need help and assistance, and any amount is very much appreciated for her continuous medication, treatment and hospitalization. This will be a long painful battle for us.
