Please help save Chijioke

2021 has been a very challenging year for our family, my younger brother, Chijioke fell ill and was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in late June 2021. With the diagnosis, his life took a turn that we never envisaged. He has been undergoing dialysis 2-3times a week for the past 6 months and each session is about 4-hours long. It’s been a huge shock for our family and we had to come to terms that my baby brother’s life is no longer the same and being on dialysis is what is helping to keep him alive for now.

 

Chijioke is 30, full of life, self-motivated, hard-working and a person who truly cares about others. It has been a life-changing illness for him, as he's no longer able to work full time yet he strives to continue working and carry on with life as best as he can, despite the challenges posed by this ailment.

 

Given the severity of his condition, his medical team has advised him to go for Kidney transplant as soon as possible as a long-term solution. The kidney transplant medical bill is estimated at about N17million naira (approximately 30,000 USD). This will cover the cost of the transplant surgery, after-care, medications, and post transplant recovery expenses.

 

This journey has taken a huge financial toll on us and we find ourselves short of the required funds needed for his medical care and kidney transplant surgery. Hence, we are using this medium to appeal and solicit your kindness and financial support to cover Chijioke’s medical procedures and recovery expenses.
