Urgent Appeal: Help Save Haneen and her Family from War

Hello, my name is Haneen Kraizim, and I am the mother of a one-year-old son, Muhammad. We are from Gaza, Palestine, and like many families here, we have suffered greatly due to the ongoing war. Our lives have been turned upside down, forcing us to flee multiple times while enduring unimaginable hardships.

Our Story:

My husband, Ibrahim, our families, and I were displaced from our home during heavy bombardments in Gaza. In October 2023, we found ourselves in a tent in Rafah after fleeing for our lives. Just months later, in May 2024, we were forced to relocate again, ending up in Nuseirat. Each time, we faced death, destruction, and illness.

Now, we are living in a tent under the intense heat, struggling to survive. My son, Muhammad, suffers from severe skin diseases, and my husband's mother is immobilized due to a critical back injury, urgently needing surgery that we simply cannot afford. The conditions we are living in make it impossible to care for ourselves, let alone our loved ones.

With winter approaching, our fear is growing. Living in a tent in Gaza means we are vulnerable to the cold, rain, and worsening conditions. The little protection we have now will soon be even more inadequate. We don’t know how we’ll survive through the freezing winter months.

Additionally, I am pregnant, and we are terrified about what could happen to both me and our baby in these dangerous and unhealthy conditions. This is one of the main reasons we urgently need to evacuate to Egypt where I can receive proper medical care.

Ibrahim's Plea:

Hello, I am Ibrahim Almeshal, Haneen's husband, and I am fundraising to save my family's lives. I am a 30-year-old Palestinian refugee, trapped in this nightmare with my wife, son, and elderly parents. I am the sole breadwinner, but every day, it becomes harder to survive.

One year after the war, we still live in a tent, constantly afraid for our lives and health. Every day, I see my wife and child suffering from illness, hunger, and fear. The physical pain I endure from labouring to provide for my family is nothing compared to the emotional agony of watching them suffer.

Before the war, Haneen and I lived a normal life. I have a Master's degree in Engineering and worked as a lecturer and researcher. Haneen was a loving mother and homemaker, caring for our son, Muhammad. But the war took everything from us.

We were forced to flee our apartment on the first day of the war, which was later destroyed by an Israeli missile. Since then, we’ve moved from camp to camp, eventually ending up in Nuseirat with almost nothing left.

Life in Gaza grows worse each day. My cousin was killed by Israeli soldiers while burying his only daughter, and now, we fear another evacuation amid new threats of attack.

Our Urgent Initial Need:

We are initially desperate to raise €20,000 to cover my mother's urgent surgery and to get medical treatment for Muhammad. Additionally, we hope to gather enough funds to flee Gaza and start a new life in Egypt. It costs up to €5,000 per person to leave Gaza, and we need help to evacuate Haneen, especially as she is pregnant and needs proper medical care to ensure the safety of both her and the baby.

Cost Breakdown:

Urgent Medical Operation for Ibrahim’s Mother: €7,000

Ibrahim’s mother needs immediate surgery for a severe back injury that has left her unable to move. This amount will cover the surgery and necessary medical care.

Medical Treatment for Muhammad: €3,000

Our one-year-old son, Muhammad, suffers from multiple skin diseases due to the harsh living conditions. This amount will cover his urgent medical treatment, medications, and follow-up care.

Costs to Flee Gaza to Egypt: €10,000

It costs up to €5,000 per person to leave Gaza and travel to Egypt. We are seeking help to evacuate Haneen and Muhammad to Egypt where they can live in safer conditions and access better medical care.
