Please Help Save Our Gymnastics Club
Our STV interview is shown at the bottom of this section
Dear friends & family of our children, the local community and compassionate strangers,
We are reaching out to you in the hope we can save losing our gym.
Unfortunately, the premises we rent is has been put up for sale, and our gymnastics club now faces an uncertain future.
11 months ago, we were given the opportunity to purchase our building from the owners and since then we have been fundraising.
Last month we received the unexpected news that the offer was withdrawn with immediate effect and they now want over double the original offer.
We are working hard on securing 80% funding from the community ownership fund. To secure this funding we require 20% which equals £80,000 match funding to be eligible for this.
Through our fundraising events we have managed to raise just over £10,000 so we are frantically trying to raise the other £70,000. This would enable us to complete the community ownership fund and hopefully secure our club.
We know this is a huge ask but as passionate staff and parents we are pleading to anyone who can help, no matter how big or small.
Why We Need Your Help?
Fyrish Gymnastics now faces an uncertain future. Being the only sole dedicated facility in the Highlands we have over 720 children enrolled. If our gym closes this will have a huge impact on our local and wider community.
How You Can Help?
Any Contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to us. If you cannot donate, we would really appreciate if you could share our appeal and spread the word. The power of social media is wonderful.
Equally if you have any fundraising ideas, we have a team of wonderful staff and parents who would love any ideas to help them on this journey.
What Would Happen If We Close?
Being in the Highlands of Scotland we are one of only 4 facilities on the mainland. Our next local club doesn’t have its own premises and is running on around a 2 year wait list to join the others are around 90 miles away. This would mean that our children would have no where else to attend.
Our Children
A wide range of ages and abilities attend Fyrish Gymnastics club. We run classes from toddler, to 4-piece competitive squads. We are also used by the local community as a birthday party facility and a drop-in session for teenagers to give them a safe space to be.
We are also collaborating with Highland Disability Sport to offer training for all abilities.
Some of our children train in our gym up to 12.5 hours per week. It is such a huge part of their lives and we would be devastated if they lost this.
What Happens To The Money If We Don’t Manage To Secure Our Building?
In the unfortunate event that we are unable to raise the money quick enough to secure our building we would use the money to help us with running costs and hopefully help secure another premises in the future.
We thank you for your time and we really do appreciate any help at all, big or small.
Love all the staff, parents and children from Fyrish Gymnastics Club
